Helping Nonprofits Make Grants Feel Less Confusing and More Strategic
With more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, Caitlin helps organizations create and implement grant development strategies that support stronger applications, better grant management, and greater community impact.

Grant strategy from someone who understands the nonprofit side and the funder side.
Hi, I’m Caitlin, a nonprofit consultant who helps organizations create and implement grant development strategies that work for them.

After more than 15 years in the nonprofit world, I know how important funding is to the programs and services communities rely on. I have worked in program implementation, grant management, and funding decisions, which gives me a unique perspective on what nonprofits need to prepare for, write, and manage grants well.

But I also know how overwhelming the grant process can feel.
Researching opportunities, determining eligibility, writing a strong application, organizing documents, managing deadlines, and preparing for post-award requirements can quickly become a lot, especially for small nonprofits without a dedicated grants department.

That is why I created CMC Nonprofit Consulting: to help nonprofits move from feeling overwhelmed by grants to having a clear, practical strategy they can use with confidence.
I saw the same grant challenges coming up again and again.
As I transitioned from managing grants to working with a funder to award funds, I realized many organizations were struggling with the same things I had experienced earlier in my career.

They cared deeply about their mission.
They had meaningful programs serving real community needs.
They needed funding to continue and expand their work.

But they did not always have the time, tools, or strategy to confidently navigate the grant process.

I realized the grant development strategy I had built as program staff and later refined from the funder side could help other organizations approach grants with more clarity and direction.

Now, through online training, live workshops, and consulting support, I help nonprofits better understand how to prepare for funding opportunities, write stronger applications, and manage grants after they are awarded.

If grants have felt overwhelming, it’s not because your organization is doing something wrong.
Grant writing can be confusing because there are so many moving pieces. You may be trying to find the right opportunities, understand funder priorities, gather the right information, explain your programs clearly, and meet deadlines while still doing the daily work of serving your community.

For many small nonprofits, grants become one more responsibility added to an already full plate.

That does not mean your organization cannot be successful with grants. It means you need a strategy that helps you know what to focus on, what to prepare, and how to stay organized from start to finish.

CMC Nonprofit Consulting helps you stop guessing your way through the process and start building a grant development approach that is practical, organized, and aligned with your mission.
My goal is to make the grant process feel more manageable.
I help nonprofits understand the full grant process, not just the writing piece.

That includes preparing your organization before you apply, identifying compatible opportunities, framing your application in a way that speaks to funders, and managing the award after funding is received.

Depending on where your organization is right now, you can start with online training, schedule a live workshop for your team, or reach out for more customized grant support.
No matter where you begin, the goal is the same: to help your nonprofit pursue funding with more clarity, confidence, and strategy.

A practical, behind-the-scenes approach to nonprofit funding
I have always enjoyed helping organizations do meaningful work behind the scenes. Grant writing and management may not always be the most visible part of nonprofit work, but it plays a critical role in helping programs continue, grow, and serve more people.

My approach is practical, organized, and tailored to what your nonprofit actually needs. I am not here to make grants feel more complicated. I am here to help you understand the process, build a strategy, and feel more prepared for the opportunities ahead.
